Dr. Brianna Hawkins is a 2013 graduate of Vanderbilt University where she was a double major in Medicine, Health, and Society and Psychology. Upon graduation, she attended Washington University in St. Louis for a post baccalaureate program. After completing the program, Dr. Hawkins began her career in clinical research at Vanderbilt Medical Center’s Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease. In 2015, she went on to find her niche in oncology clinical research at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, climbing the ladder to the management level and eventually became Clinical Research Associate, monitoring Phase 1 trials across the U.S. & Canada. In 2019, Dr. Hawkins returned to the classroom as a dual degree Doctor of Pharmacy/MBA (University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy/ University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business). She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2021 as a milestone accomplishment. In 2021 and 2022, Dr. Hawkins was selected as a Janssen Oncology Clinical Scientist Intern, focusing her efforts in drug development for the Early Development multiple myeloma and lymphoma teams. In 2022, she served as a Janssen Oncology Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Co-Op, a first of its kind position within the company. Ms. Hawkins graduated with her MBA in December 2022 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2023. Upon graduation, Brianna is now a Clinical Scientist for Janssen Oncology, supporting Early & Late Development teams.
In November 2023, Dr. Hawkins launched her first entrepreneurial endeavor, becoming the owner of Stepped Shoetique, Montgomery’s first women’s stand alone brick and mortar shoe boutique. Her impact on the community as a Scientist and store owner led to recognitions such as Central Alabama Top 40 Under Forty and Leadership Montgomery Torchbearers Program. When she is not working in her store, Brianna enjoys going to the gym, traveling, and hiking.
