The Community Development Department participates in development-related projects to better our community. This department is comprised of three Divisions: Community Development, Land Use, and Development.

Community Development Division

The Community Development Division is responsible for the disbursement of federal, state, and local funds to low-to-moderate income individuals and families within Montgomery. Community Development oversees the following programs: Community Development Block Grants, HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Shelter Grants.

Land Use Division

The Land Use Division is responsible for the daily operations of the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations and Historic Ordinance. We staff the Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, and Architectural Review Board.

Development Division

The Development Division promotes economic growth through partnerships to implement plans for Montgomery’s development. We manage real estate, urban design, and economic development projects and programs.
