Destiny is the Social Impact Director/Program Manager at Alabama Values/Alabama Values Progress. She also directs Partnerships and Projects for Blackyard, LLC, leading the Alabama River Diversity Network. She graduated summa cum laude from Alabama State University in 2015 with a B.A. degree in English Literature. Her academic experiences led her to pursue a Project Management Certificate from Cornell University.
Professionally, Destiny has held pivotal roles that highlight her commitment to education and social justice as well as preserving and promoting African American history and culture as demonstrated by her roles as Cultural Heritage Manager at Alabama State University and Coordinator for the Black Heritage Council of the AHC, where she now serves on the board for the Friends of the Freedom Rides Museum. Her service to Teach for America (Mississippi Delta Corp, ‘15) further signifies her passions. Destiny's community engagement includes tutoring at New Beginnings Educational Center and supporting The Frazier Community Center in her hometown. Outside of her professional and community commitments, Destiny enjoys writing and performing music and poetry.
She also loves dancing and outdoor activities. Through her diverse roles and dedication, Destiny continues to make contributions to her community, promoting social justice and historical preservation.
