Chantel Hartman, a Public Health Analyst in the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. In her current role, Chantel supports jurisdictions across HHS Region 4 with immunization information systems development and implementation, internal and external partnership engagement, and data submission special projects. She also serves on the agency’s Young Professional Network-Professional Development committee and the American Immunization Registry Association’s Publication Project Workgroup. Prior to joining the CDC, Chantel led several federal and state tobacco control initiatives to resolve tobacco point-of-sale policy and data gaps, advance Synar survey training opportunities, and promote comprehensive tobacco cessation benefits and services.

Chantel received her Master of Public Administration from Troy University and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Auburn University Montgomery. In addition to being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she volunteers with the National Board of Public Health Examiners, Alabama Department of Archives and History, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Center for Pediatric-Onset Demyelinating Disease Family Retreat. Chantel also supports local initiatives such as Youth-N-Action, Read Freely Alabama, and the Capri Community Film Society.
