Property Maintenance

The Property Maintenance Division is responsible for the abatement of properties throughout the city that are in violation of municipal ordinances and considered a public nuisance based on environmental issues that create a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.

Environmental issues include:
• Abundance of overgrown grass and weeds
• Accumulation of litter, junk, trash, debris, building material, etc.

These abatements are completed through the use of independent contractors who meet the qualifications and standards set forth by the Montgomery City Council and Property Maintenance Division. After receiving approval from the Montgomery City Council, abatements are awarded to agents through a competitive bid practice.

If you are interested in becoming a registered abatement agent for the City of Montgomery please contact our Property Maintenance Division at 334-625-3069, or by visiting the office at 25 Washington Ave.
