Railroad crossing repairs underway at various sites in the city
CSX is conducting railroad crossing repairs at various sites.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Beginning today, November 4, CSX Transportation is conducting repairs at various railroad crossings.
CSX is shutting these crossings down and is responsible for traffic control. The city Street Maintenance Department is assisting to ensure that the crossing at W. Fleming Rd. is re-paved and reopened as soon as possible.
The first repair will happen along W. Fleming Road.
This crossing will be repaired and reopened as soon as possible on Monday, Nov. 4th. The citizens affected by this closer will have limited access due to there being only one way into or out of this section of W. Fleming Road. We will have emergency access opened to these homes during the temporary closure via a city right of way that connects the end of Lowell St to Davenport Dr.
The second closure beginning November 4 will be at Hyundai Boulevard. This crossing will be closed for approximately three days while repairs are completed.
The third closure beginning November 4 i at Potomac Ave., Bowmen St., and Gaston Ave.
These three crossings will be completed and reopened as soon as possible. These crossings all have alternative entrance and exit points for the neighborhoods being affected and should only cause slight inconveniences to citizens.
