OLD BUSINESS
1. Mayoral Veto of Ordinance No. 28-2024 (MPD pay raises). Reasons: (1) The Council Member who sponsored the ordinance had not ensured the budget would sustain the pay raise. (2) The Interim Police Chief had not been consulted on the change and/or queried for his thoughts and support. (3) Ordinance was not coordinated with the Mayor and his team.
2. Hearing on proposed Ordinance rezoning property containing 8.70 acres (+/-) located on the west side of Lower Wetumpka Road, across from Stokes Road, from an R-50 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District to an M-3-Q (General Industrial-Qualified) Zoning District. Applicant requested M-3; Planning Commission recommended M-3-Q restricted to No Expansion of an Auto Salvage/Junkyard to this property. No Appeal Received. (RZ-2024-011)
3. Hearing on proposed Ordinance rezoning property containing 5.12 acres (+/-)) located on the south side of East Fleming Road, approximately 1000 feet east of South Court Street, from an M-1 (Light Industrial) and FH (Flood Hazard) Zoning Districts to an M-1 (Light Industrial) Zoning District. Recommended by the Planning Commission. (RZ-2024-010)
4. Ordinance authorizing payments of $7500 per month for 12 months to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for patrolling & law enforcement. (Sponsored by Councillor Pruitt)

7. Resolution repealing the legislation which created Montgomery City/County Personnel Board and expressing Council’s intent to adopt an ordinance creating a City Personnel Board in accordance with Act 2024-337. (Sponsored by Councillor Calhoun)
8. Ordinance requiring all apartments and rental properties in the COM to have and maintain a local property manager or local property management company for the oversight and maintenance of properties. (Sponsored by Councillor Szymanski)
