Mayor Steven L. Reed and the City of Montgomery’s Department of Cultural Affairs will be hosting the inaugural Montgomery Smooth Jazz Fest on at Riverfront Amphitheater starting tonight at 6 p.m. With a rich musical heritage, Montgomery has always been a stage for the state, region and even the nation with Clarence Carter, Eddie Floyd, Nat King Cole, Hank Williams and even a Temptation, Melvin Blue Franklin, having ties to the capitol city. The Montgomery Smooth Jazz fest will feature two days of performances from world renowned R & B and jazz artist who embody the musical legacy of the River Region.
