The City of Montgomery will bring live music, food and fun to neighborhood parks throughout the community as part of its new summer concert series called Sundays in the Park!
The City’s Department of Cultural Affairs created the platform as part of Mayor Steven L. Reed’s plan to offer community-based events and programming at public facilities throughout Montgomery. It also aligns with the recommendations outlined in the Envision Montgomery 2040 Comprehensive Plan – the city’s first comprehensive plan in more than 50 years.
The City will host three separate concerts on one Sunday each month at three different parks. This strategy will ensure that the City is able to bring one concert to each City Council district by the end of summer.
The Sundays in the Park Concert Series is free to the public and will begin at 4 p.m.
Locations for the Sundays in the Park concerts on August 14th:
• Ida Bell Young Park, 5400 Vaughn Road
• Peter Crump Park, 3510 Woodley Road
• E. D. Nixon Park, 1000 Edgar D. Nixon Avenue
