Multicultural Festival featuring Native American Arts and Culture

Mayor Steven L. Reed and the City of Montgomery will partner with the Alabama Indigenous Coalition to host the 2nd Saturday Global City Fest Celebration of Native Americans to be held at the Union Station Train Shed. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

This is one of many programs crafted by the City of Montgomery Cultural Affairs Department to continue to engage, enlighten and elevate a diverse and inclusive cultural, performing, literary and visual arts community.

The Alabama Indigenous Coalition is a native-led nonprofit focused on equity, accountability and building awareness regarding Indigenous history and culture.

“We are excited to bring a variety of Native American artists, knowledge keepers and most of all Native culture to the Capital City,” said Valerie Adams, co-founder and President.

The 2nd Saturday Multicultural Festival Series is a free, family-friendly event. The June 11 event will incorporate Native Americans from Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and South Dakota with traditional and contemporary songs/performances, speakers, demonstration and education areas.
