May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, which recognizes and uplifts the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and their contributions to our nation.

In honor of this occasion, the City of Montgomery Department of Cultural Affairs will present 2022 Global City Festival, as a part of its Second Saturday summer event series, at Riverwalk Amphitheater on May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will pay homage to the rich and diverse cultural heritage and traditions of our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

This event is FREE to the public. Participants will be able to enjoy a showcase of international music, cultural artisans, food trucks, crafts and other local vendors. According to the U.S. census, Asian and Pacific Islander Americans comprise 3.2% of Montgomery’s population – one of its fastest growing Census segments.
