We’ll be outdoors at Read Herring — seated around the planter on the Washington Ave. side of our store — on Thursday, May 13 at 5:30pm, for our very first book program since Covid. We will welcome the contributors to Alabama Noir, an anthology of stories written by some of the best noir writers working today. Joining us for the event are Don Noble, Alabama Public Radio reviewer and editor of the collection, along with Marlin (Bart) Barton, Kirk Curnutt, Wendy Reid, and Carolyn Haines. Their collective talents add up to amazing! You don’t have to be a sleuth to enjoy the discussion we’ll have about what noir is exactly and short readings from the book that range from grim and deadly to mildly humorous. The arena seating we’re planning will allow for some social distancing. Come and be part of the Read Herring community again on May 13 at 5:30pm — and bring a friend. Y’all have been missed!
