BONDS hosts this event annually as a fun interactive learning opportunity for the neighborhoods in the city and county of Montgomery. We host this as a precursor the big National Night Out that is hosted nationwide in August to put resources in front of associations, homeowners, watch groups, etc. so that can in turn offer the same services and or activities in their respective neighborhoods.
BONDS Kick Off includes a sampling of activities the area’s neighborhoods can utilize for their own events such as a parade, vendors, kids area, presentations, give-a-ways, and food, and other creative partnerships. Montgomery’s Police Department, Montgomery Sherriff’s Office, and others in the public safety arena will be present to offer tips and advice. Montgomery’s City and County Elected Officials are also invited to attend. Resource packets will be distributed to the neighborhoods which contains information, ideas, and contacts for organizing their National Night Out event. There will be free food as long as it lasts and live entertainment from local youth groups.
More than 250 people attended in 2014 and we are hoping for nothing less in 2015. So grab your chairs and your neighbors and come to join us as we prepare to learn more about National Night Out and meet some representatives of other neighborhoods throughout Montgomery County!
This year the National Association of Town Watch’s 32nd Annual National Night Out crime prevention event is August 4th and Montgomery’s neighborhoods are preparing to host activities in their respective neighborhoods.
BONDS is a neighborhood association strengthening program; providing training, a resource center, networking opportunities, and financial assistance (grants) in an effort to improve the overall quality of life throughout the city and county of Montgomery.
