The Beloved Community Weekend of Service is a yearly event that supports creative projects to enhance and elevate distressed neighborhoods. In honor of MLK Day and Civil Rights pioneer Claudette Colvin, volunteers will gather to revive the outside of Ms. Colvin's childhood home, beautify the surrounding King Hill Community, work on the community garden and commemorative mural.
King's Canvas, Whitehurst Construction and Sow America have joined forces to help lead the weekend of service. Tasks will include light woodwork, landscaping, debris removal, designing and painting images on area fencing. All materials and supplies will be provided by the Beloved CDC organization.
