Pursuant to the provisions of Governor Ivey’s Proclamation dated March 18, 2020, the Montgomery City Council will hold a teleconference call Tuesday,  March 31, 2020, at 3 p.m. to discuss and cancel the April 7, 2020 Regular Council Meeting.  A summary of the teleconference will be posted within 24 hours of said teleconference.

the tele-conference will be shared live via the City of Montgomery’s Facebook page.  The Public Information and External Affairs Department will use the conference call dial in info, place a desk phone on speaker and mute and hold a cell phone  in close proximity.  Members of the media and the public will be able to hear, but will not be able to comment or ask questions.

SUMMARY OF SPECIAL CALLED TELECONFERENCE OF MONTGOMERY CITY COUNCIL REGARDING CANCELLATION OF MEETING: MARCH 31, 2020

The Council of the City of Montgomery met by teleconference Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 3:00 p.m.  The following Council members participated in the teleconference:

PRESENT:      BOLLINGER, LYONS, GRAHAM, CALHOUN,

MITCHELL, MCINNIS, PRUITT, JINRIGHT                                --8

ABSENT:       LARKIN                                                                                            --1

Council President Jinright served as Chairman of the meeting and Brenda Gale Blalock, City Clerk, served as Clerk of the meeting.

The Chairman stated the purpose of the meeting was to determine whether to have the April 7^th Council Meeting or to cancel.  Discussion was held regarding not cancelling the meeting and proceeding with business as best possible.

Councillor Calhoun made a motion to proceed with the meeting as scheduled, which motion carried with the following vote:

Council determined that there would not be a Work Session nor Public Communications Roster for Agenda or Non-agenda Items.  Individuals present for public hearings would come in for that item and discussion and then leave.  A telephone line will be prepared for public to call in and listen and to communicate on items.

There being no further business to come before the Council, the teleconference adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
