The Montgomery Police Headquarters Building is located at 320 N. Ripley Street.

Personnel work in, and out of our facilities 24hrs/day, seven days a week.

Main office hours (including Records) are from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday, except legal holidays. Please use the front entrace on Ripley Street for all matters and transactions, including  inquiries concerning the City Jail.


If you have business with the Municipal Court or wish to speak with a City Magistrate in order to secure a warrant or summons, please enter the Municipal Court Building which is located immediately adjacent (to the right) of the Police Department.


Police reports are available for public review 24 hours per day. Should yoou desire to view a report, simply come to police headquarters, enter through the front lobby, and ask the desk personnel for the Report Clipboard.

Please understand that you may not remove any report from the clipboard, nor may you make any marks highlighting or obliterating any part of a report, nor may you retain the clipboard for extended excllusive viewing if others are wiating to view the same reports.

You may make written notes on your own paper concerning information on the clipboard. The MPD does not provide paper, pens, or other media, or other resources for your documentation. If you wish to obtain a copy of a police report as on the clipboard, you may speak to a records clerk or officer at the main service window. Below are the prices for obtaining reports:

Effective April 1st, 2012 the fees for the reports will increase as stated below:

  • Accident Reports - $15.00
  • Arrest Reports - $5.00
  • Incident Reports - If you are the victim, just have an ID to show you are the victim, and the report is free. For all others, the cost is $5.00
  • Back Ground checks - $25.00
