At present Rev. E. Baxter Morris is serving as one of our Police Chaplain. Currently he is serving as the Pastor of First Baptist (Brick a Day Church) located directly across from Police Headquarters. He has served as their pastor for over 29 years. Rev. Morris came on board in January of 2008.
Our other chaplain is Jim Meacham. Jim was a member of the Volunteer in Police Services and began his service with the VIPS in September 2003. He worked with the VIPS and then became a full time chaplain. He was fully certified as a Chaplain by International Conference of Police Chaplains as was assigned as one of the MPD Chaplains in 2008.
