Our Division
The Long Range Planning Division (LRP) is composed of professional planners and the BONDS organization (Building Our Neighborhoods for Development and Success). Together with the entire Department of Planning, we work to collect data and solicit citizen input to identify community issues to be incorporated into planning Montgomery’s future. BONDS works to support and train neighborhood leaders; to help build healthy neighborhood communities; and help citizens work with city officials to make local improvements.
LRP has been working with neighbors and stakeholders in planning areas to study the area in depth and develop a plan to update the existing Comprehensive Plan. Today our focus is on completing a new Long Range Comprehensive Plan. LRP also works with Planning Controls Division in zoning change requests and development plans to insure proposed changes meet requirements of long range plans that have been adopted.
Our Mission
To develop a Long Range, Sustainable Plan for the City of Montgomery that incorporates sound Planning Principles but is guided by the dreams and desires of our citizens. The Long Range Plan will protect, preserve, and promote our cultural, economic, environmental, and social resources to insure a vibrant, growing Montgomery that serves all of our citizens today and in the future.
