MISSION To carry out the responsibilities given to cities by state law, and to improve the safety, health, prosperity, and general welfare of the residents of the City of Montgomery. LEGAL AUTHORITY Code of Alabama, Section 11-45-1 GOALS Every department and employee of the City of Montgomery will contribute in measurable ways to achieving each of the following citywide goals: 1. To serve our customers in the most efficient and effective ways. 2. To further the development of employees who are our City’s greatest asset. 3. To run the city using sound business principles. 4. To live within our means, which may vary from time to time. 5. To grow the City of Montgomery through economic development/job creation. 6. To ensure we perform the “have to do” items well, appropriately evaluate and accomplish as many of the “want to do” items as we can, and consider the “like to do” items.
