Riverwalk Arts & Crafts Festival 2017

Eligibility and Rules

All artist must be 18 years of age or older to exhibit. All work that is exhibited must be original and executed by the entrant. Paintings, watercolors, pen and ink drawings, etchings, photography, clay, metal work, fibers, leather, glass, paper, wood and other original works are acceptable. No work may be exhibited which has been made with the use of commercial kits, molds, patterns, plans, stencils or prefabricated forms.  Reproductions of an artist’s original works are acceptable. In this our inaugural year, we are waiving all jury fees. However, our jurors will seeking out those artists who exhibit the highest standards of quality and workmanship in their chosen medium.

Booth spaces are non-transferable.  No artist will be allowed to exhibit work without having first juried into the Riverwalk Arts & Crafts Festival and paid the appropriate booth fees. Shared booths are acceptable but each exhibitor must jury separately unless working in the same medium.

All exhibitors should be set up and ready no later than 9AM on Saturday, September 30, 2017, Friday set-up is allowed and security will be provided. All exhibitors must check in at the Festival Tent prior to set-up.

All booths must remain open between 9AM and 6PM. All exhibitors are expected to manage their displays. All exhibitors are required to keep their booth areas in a neat and orderly fashion. Receptacles for trash and refuse will be available throughout the venue.

Any exhibitor who fails to comply with the festival rules and regulations or whose exhibit is not representative of the items submitted with their application will be subject to removal from the event.

Lodging- Dry camping and trailer parking are available with walking distance to the festival site. Additionally, a special room rate of $119 has been arranged for exhibitors at the Doubletree located at 120 Madison Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama. It is three blocks from the entrance to the venue. Rooms can be reserved online or by calling (334)245-2320. Use Promo Code RWA to receive the discounted rate. The cutoff for room reservations at this rate is August 22, 2017.

Our Venue- The Riverwalk Arts & Crafts Festival will be held in Montgomery’s Riverfront Park along the banks of the historic Alabama River. It features power, a gazebo, river walk, splash pad, The Sand Bar, amphitheater, green space and beautiful river views on multiple levels. It is close to a variety of hotels, bars, restaurants, historical attractions and is the home of the Harriott II riverboat that provides dinner and Scenic River cruises.

In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the Historic Union Station Train Shed adjacent to Riverfront Park. This structure which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places measures 600 feet by 75 feet and provides an excellent backup venue for the Riverwalk Arts & Crafts Festival. It features numerous power outlets, easy set up and load out capability and permanent restroom structures.
