Montgomery Fire/Rescue and its members are dedicated to providing essential resources, education and leadership to our community. We are committed to training individuals, families, neighborhoods, and businesses in fire safety. To ensure our community risk efforts are effective we utilized response data and target the most at risk communities with risk reduction activities including public education and smoke detector campaigns. Fire/Rescue Peer Support
Montgomery Fire/Rescue, and the River Region Chaplain Service provide peer support to Montgomery's first responders. This team conducts individual (Peer to Peer) crisis intervention, mental health support, spiritual care, and traumatic stress assistance. All of the services provided by the department's peer support team are confidential and voluntary. The mission is to ensure that we protect those that protect us to the best of our ability.
Station Tours
Montgomery Fire/Rescue welcomes visitors at fire stations throughout the city. The department also holds special events throughout the year at fire stations to educate the public on fire safety. To schedule a station tour for a school, church or other group, contact us at (334) 240-4626.

Community Philanthropy
In addition to MDA collection and donation, Montgomery Fire/Rescue supports a number of local charitable organizations. Fire Chief Jordan believes in giving back and the men and women of Montgomery Fire/Rescue follows his lead. Over the last 24-years, MF/R has raised $650,650.82 in United Way contributions with much of it coming from direct donations from members of MF/R . Montgomery Fire/Rescue has also donated approximately $45,000 to the Cancer Wellness Center and Women of Hope Foundation.
Sparky
Since 1951, Sparky the Fire Dog figure for Fire Departments all over the country helping spread fire safety messages to children. Freddy
“Freddy the Fire Truck” is a self-propelled, remote controlled educational tool designed to enhance fire safety education efforts. Not only can “Freddy” talk, he also has red lights, blinking eyes, a siren, squirts water and performs a host of other maneuvers that can captivate a young audience attention when emphasizing important educational points.
Public Education Vehicle & Fire/Rescue Safety House
Anyone who grew up in Montgomery will recognize the Fire/Rescue Safety House. This mobile house has been converted to demonstrate many fire safety issues commonly faced in the home. Children are able to be exposed to working smoke detectors sounds and even able to see what it feels like to get low and crawl under the "smoke" in a safe controlled and non-toxic environment. The Safety House is always a hit with young school-aged children.
