Donna Pickins, Instructor: Multi-Media Art Exploration
for Youth: Ages 6 - 13
Wednesdays: September 13 & 20; October 11 & 25 Time: 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fee: $30 per class or $100 for the series of 4 classes; most supplies included. Donna Pickens: (Assistant Curator of Education, in charge of studio & family programs at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts for 13 years; more than 27 years art teaching experience). Explore ceramics, drawing, and painting in this series of classes. Each 2 1/2 hour class includes a sculpture project (hand building with clay) as well as a drawing and painting project. Students will explore a variety of media, including watercolors, acrylic paints, oil pastels, & colored pencils. Each class offers different 2-D & 3-D projects. Class size is limited to 10 students. Have you always wanted to play in clay? Talk to your friends! This is a wonderful opportunity for kids, home schoolers, as well as adults. Tuesdays/Thursdays for 6 total sessions from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Fee: $135 plus $25 supply fee. Adult and youth classes will
be separate, with a six student class size minimum. Class includes 25# of clay, tools and firing of projects completed within the class. Additional materials are available at a nominal cost. Call 220-9044 for more information.
Be introduced to ceramics with instruction in handbuilding techniques including slab, coil, pinch and slump or press mold projects. Handbuilding is a prerequisite to the wheel class. One class will be dedicated to glazing and kiln operation, and projects will be glazed and fired. Call 220-9044 for more information.
With knowledge gained in the hand building class, this class is an introductory wheel throwing class, which can expand to advanced skill levels depending on student’s interest and ability. Students will learn how to throw and center clay, trim and finish

Express Lunch Zumba

Starts Sept. 12. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon & 12:00 noon - 12:20 p.m. Fee: $5 for one hour or $4 for 30 minutes. You choose how long you want to “Shake It”. 30 minute workout to get re-energized for the rest of your workday. Dancing (cardio) and toning combined in half the regular workout time.
