The following City Council Agenda Items were heard during May 2nd, meeting:

The following City Ordinances were adopted by City Council:

  • Ordinance rezoning two parcels of land containing 58.8 acres located at the west end of Elsberry Drive (3346 Elsberry Drive) and the south side of Elsmeade Drive from an INST (Institutional) Zoning District to a B-1-b-Q (Central Business-Qualified) Zoning District; restricted to:  residential use; and outdoor recreation and entertainment, zip lines, laser tag and paintball courses, after school tutoring and mentoring for children, sports and game fields, walking trails, archery, gardening, swimming (if pool is provided) ropes courses, and  team building exercises for groups.  Recommended by Planning Commission. (RZ-2017-004)

     

  • Ordinance rezoning one parcel of land located at 1951, 1961, and 1973 Bell Street from a B-3 (Commercial) Zoning District to a B-1-b (Central Business) Zoning District.  Recommended by the Planning Commission. (RZ-2017-005)

     

  • Ordinance amending Article III, Section 13-111 and Section 13-112 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Montgomery and adopting the International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, along with their Referenced Publications, with Exceptions and Amendments.

     

  • Ordinance amending Article III, Section 13-111 and Section 13-112 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Montgomery and adopting the International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, along with their Referenced Publications, with Exceptions and Amendments.  

     

  • Ordinance amending Chapter 13, Article I, Section 13-8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Montgomery (Fireworks).

     

  • Ordinance amending Chapter 14, Article IV, Section 14-143 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Montgomery (Permit and Reporting Required for Storage of Hazardous Materials).

     

  • Ordinance granting a License to H I B Lee Street, LLC, to construct, install, use, maintain, repair and replace a canopy structure over a portion of the ROW of Lee Street.

     

  • Ordinance assessing Ad Valorem Taxes for Tax Year Oct. 1, 2016 through Sept. 30, 2017.

     

    The following Agenda Item was carried over by the Council:

  • Application for a Lounge Retail Liquor – Class I License by Kelly and Craig Green, d/b/a The Bar, 2391 Congressman William Dickinson Drive.

    The following items were reported now in compliance and withdrawn from the agenda:

  • Resolution denying and/or revoking right to operate a business for failure to purchase Business License:  Dong Jee Cho, d/b/a Satsuki Restaurant, 6534 Atlanta Highway.

     

  • Resolution denying and/or revoking right to operate a business for failure to purchase Business License:  Adam Stuart, d/b/a Special Event Lighting LLC, 1570 Ann Street.

     

    The following Applications were approved by the City Council:

  • Application for Retail Beer and Retail Table Wine (Off Premises Only) by Taylor Marketing 1 LLC, d/b/a Entec 103, 1024 Ann Street.

  • Application for a Non-Profit Tax Exempt Liquor License by MRDF, d/b/a River Jam 2017, 300 Water Street, Train Shed.  (Sponsored by Councillor Jinright)

     

  • Application for a Non-Profit Tax Exempt Liquor License by MRDF, d/b/a Riverbend Brewfest 2017, 300 Water Street Train Shed.  (Sponsored by Councillor Jinright)

     

    The following Resolutions were adopted by the City Council:

  • Resolution denying and/or revoking right to operate a business for failure to purchase Business License:  Tiffany Robinson, d/b/a IGlam/Iheartme Activity Center, 3456 Eastdale Circle.
  • Resolution assessing the cost of abatement of unsafe structures on various lots pursuant to Section 11-53B-1etSeq.,CodeofAlabama.
  • Resolution declaring public nuisances, authorizing immediate abatement and assessing cost of abatement of public nuisances on various lots pursuant to Chapter 12 of Code of Ordinances.

     

    The following individuals have been appointed to a City Board:

  • Resolution appointing Tommie Ellis to the Joint Public Charity Hospital Board replacing Richard Wilhoite.  (Sponsored by Councillor Jinright)

 

Pursuant to Section 11-53B-1 et seq., Code of Alabama the following structures were authorized for demolition:
