Juliette Hampton Morgan Library Opening at Noon Today
The Juliette Hampton Morgan Library, 245 High Street, will open at noon today due to lack of heat in the building. Work on the HVAC system is still in process. Other Montgomery City-County Public Library branches will remain open, per regular scheduled hours.
The Morgan Memorial Library, considered the Main Library, is undergoing a 2-year renovation of the building. The structural phase of the renovation involves improvements to the heating and cooling system, redesign of interior spaces and replacement of furniture. Currently, a new heating and cooling system has been designed and installation should be completed very soon. The installation of the elevator has been completed, which means no more trudging up the long spiral stair case, and persons who have physical challenges can now take advantage of the elevator and ADA compliant restrooms on both floors of the library. Baby changing stations have been installed in both first and second floor restrooms. The restrooms have been upgraded and the library has an airy open space concept.
Patrons who choose to visit the Juliette Morgan Library may enter either the main entrance off High Street or the secondary entrance off McDonough Street. The humidity is no longer a factor, at this time.
